Overcast and cloud today. Rain next few days, again. Races cancelled last week hoping for Saturday night shipping and Sunday race. Going to send 20, ready or not. The 20 I am sending, cocks and hens, were hatching eggs last weekend. They have only had 1 20 mile toss so far. Most are yearlings not raced as young birds. However, basically open loft. They were trained last year to 20 miles quite a few times. We have 2 races, 105 and 155 milers. The longer race is up first so that is were they will go. Sun and cloud forecast. good headwind and cool, so white rice and safflower plus some peanuts I bought today (better than the usual) and wait and see. 20 for next week in other loft. Some of them will be close to hatching eggs. Basically 3 year olds. They have had a 20 and a 30 so far this year training. Cool here. Snow further North tonight. Well cannot alter the weather. Take it has it comes. Raptor attack today on the young birds. Some have not been out much, 3 times maybe. Anyway strong ones took off and went high. Very high. None hit that I am aware of. 3 were out overnight, now back in. Always interesting!

Not having a great start over ther Hal, we are the opposite, been a very dry Spring here in South Wales, so our training has been good, not racing old birds ( maybe a comeback race for some) so working the ybs hard, out every day and now road training , trying to keep up with the rest of the members, good luck for the weekend

Well, shipped 15 cocks. Most feeding yb,s. Split them for both races. 105 and 155 miles. Only 4 of us there. Other member could not ship. all his birds sick and dying. The member was always medicating. Guess he overdid it, lack of immunity now. One member showed up and had lost some birds on the way to the club. He had baskets in the trunk of his car, trunk lid open. Apparently one basket had come a little open. He said he thought everyone on the road was friendly this evening, waving as they went past him. Guess they were trying to tell him he had birds escaping!
