PostSubject: Marks on YBs Tail...?   Wed May 24, 2017 4:10 pm

noticed on a nest pair of ybs, ready to wean in approx. 5 days that they both have a white line across their tail feathers, I don't think its fret marks, although it could well be, im not sure.....

thing is im about to advertise them along with 6 others for sale on a selling website, and wondering if the buyer would complain about it.........

any thoughts anyone please...?

They look OK to me David, their tails certainly wouldn't stop me buying them if I was in the market.

Tend to differ with you Phil Smile Smile some what. Difficult to be exact going on a photo etc, but I suspect a stress factor situation occured while in the nest as such. In the end it may mean nothing Wink Wink but for me, give me a normal type tail any day of the week when they go across to the race loft.  cheers

Knackered - this is purely for my education - What kind of 'Stress' can happen to a baby pigeon whilst it is in the nest?

I understand how a young bird could or can be stressed whilst training etc, but now when it is in the nest.

Please educate me everyone.

Phil Smile Smile one can feed & have the best of management in place when breeding etc but that does not mean it all comes out in the youngsters with some as such at times, even with the best of intentions. An example would be that photo of the differant shape eggs we had on show here earlier & the many tales of grief one reads about when some are breeding we see on differant forums at times. I equate Rolling Eyes  Rolling Eyes  Wink  Wink Humans to be similar also, sadly.

yes I think your right colin, I think it might........there are no pin holes when you hold it up to the light so I don't really think its something to worry about eh.

yep, the grass had got a bit long round the loft colin, I used the petrol strimmer on it to cut it down once it had stopped raining, I need to just go over it now with the mower......... Razz Razz lol!
