| I'm racing roundabout this year, and I'm really pleased with how they're coming as a team. I've been turning the cocks bowls over letting them in then shutting them in their side of the nest box. I then let the hens in, I've tried letting the hens in with the cocks for 5 minutes into the Vicks side of the box, and also just letting the hens see the cocks from the other side of the nest box then straight in the basket, both with similar results. This week is the first Scottish race from Berwick with the Essex Combine, its basketing on a Thursday, and I was wondering what members using the roundabout system have had best success with in Scottish races whether to show or not to show the hen. It's worked great up to now and I'm reluctant to change as they seem really calm in the basket by the time I get to the club. My hens have been destroying my cocks results wise, I haven't had a cock home first once yet in 7 races. |

| Dead right knackered, if it ain't broke as they say, only need to change things if they need changing, like if they stop competing then try something else to keep them keen, good luck for the weekend |

| Essentially, I agree with Knackered and Lofty inasmuch as, if it ain't broke, there's no need to fix it. However, this new club we have only just joined normally baskets on a Thursday night instead of Friday, and on a Wednesday for the longer races. The reason being, there is only one transporter and a big trailer for a huge area in Brittany, France.
I have spoken to a few people and done quite a lot of research myself and, judging by what most people say, it is not wise to show the hens to the cocks the night before basketing if the birds are going to be two days in the lorry. For what it's worth, this is also what Gaby Vandenabeele says.
Hope this helps.
