PostSubject: Doing it different.   Wed Jun 14, 2017 9:35 pm

Weekend coming up forecast thunderstorms all the way. Long end 243 miles short end 205. Want to send to 243. All birds go on the same trailer so long end up first then short end hour plus later. This year flew the shorter ones. Other years always the long end. I do not think the later release helps them. This week cocks feeding young. Training has been scrubbed out. High winds and thunderstorms. Next week new system for the other loft. 11 pairs. Loft is 12 by 6. Was 8 by 6 but added 4 feet. 6 boxes. 2 foot doorway between the 4 and 8 section. Small section has 6 boxes. Now divided. 12 one by two foot deep. Small aviary on outside. Put it up few weeks back. Today put 11 hens in that section. 11 cocks large section. No wood available for a door so hung a heavy curtain across. They cannot see each other. Weekend after this will let them together few hours then ship them. Cocks. Guess I am finally trying widowhood! Too many poor races so far this year. Have to do something!! This weekend will be week 6 of 10 scheduled. Will be interesting!!

Yes. Have fans in the other lofts so can switch over. Also winters here are harsh. Have to think about interior insulation. Plus 32 C today, mid-winter minus 32. But what am I talking about? Garden shed for tools etc,. Nah..birds would like nice in there! Maybe cut down next year? LOL!
