Well unfortunately we didn't smash them to pieces, but we were 2nd Club, beaten by the guy that usually wins.

His bird was doing 1200 metres/min and ours was doing 1160 metres/min.  Our bird came like a good-un, straight onto the sputnik's landing board and in! - it couldn't have come in any better.  So no excuses there.

The next member was doing somewhere around 1110 mt/min.

Unfortunately our first young bird came well but, spent 11 minutes on the loft roof - mind you, it seemed like a week, stood up there preening itself.

That might be it for us.  The next race is far too far for our yearlings, then, for the last race, they are going to basket on a Wednesday night for a 130 mile race, and for the last race of the season, that is nuts.

We have nothing to prove, we have done quite well this year, and we won't be there next year anyway.

Time to breed a few little-uns from our best race birds, then start to pack up for the big move back to the UK.

How has everyone else got on?

Phil (and da-management)

I think we have done OK for our first reason's racing over here. But apart from the huge Raptor problem everyone is having, I will be glad to get back to a 'normal' racing season. The frogs have almost finished with racing pigeons for this season already.

Pity.

It's a bit difficult regarding lofts - both of our main lofts are less than a year old and are immaculate.

I would like to bring them back with us - but would the larger one fit in an English garden, and what's more, I would have to take them down, piece by piece (or part section by part section) - they were both designed and built in a way that they can be taken down in panels. But I don't think I have the energy any more to do the job on my own, even with Hil doing as much as she could. What we could do with is a couple of strong blokes - any volunteers?!
