Just a temp situation but it worked for young birds also. Dogs I have are all too big for the cage. Will have to sort out stock birds. Have 10 pair in their now. Will just hate to get rid of some of them when I do will replace them with 4 pairs of the best racers I have. The older ones. 2014 birds. The downside is those I cannot race. Have to cut down to 18 widowhood cocks for next year. 2015 birds and up will stay racing. Plus 16 of course, the ones that performed. Last chance for the Venus blue pied bred by Ganus. If his young do not perform on par with the other young he is gone. The odd one is good but majority of young so-so. They go to a friend and he sells them for meat. I do believe he keeps a few to breed off but I never ask.
At the docs today. All is well. He is a Welshman originally. He is very interested in pigeons. Took him the quarterly magazine from the Canadian Racing pigeon Union.
However he will never race. Very busy guy. 5 foot 7 maybe, 300 lbs at least. About 50. He could never catch them!
David. Never bothered me scavenging! Used to check out dust bins when I was a kid. But all the other kids had already been through them. Never found nothing worthwhile. Used to get a bit of lead from roofs, churches and other places but fell off one time so quit it. Used to catch pigeons up there also in the dark. Oh well. Times change.

Critters are back. Think a coon or cat. Pick up another live trap tomorrow.

Always bargains to be had O/S Smile Smile I say, if one is a Steptoe type etc. One of my latest gifts Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes off the natures trip here was a bath "Human type" Smile Smile. Now sits on top of a barrow "another gift" Wink Wink & you would never see a happier bunch of pigeons anywhere, when my birds are having a bath now as such.  cheers

Something had another try last night and started to pull off wire. Must have scared him off when I went out with the flashlight. Re-did fortifications this morning. Soon will split the old birds up. Couple more hawks around. I would prefer to do the culling, not raptors or predators.
