| Ours are looking in mint condition at the minute daz, feathers are in really good nick, some are probably a bit on the tubby side but now the road work is getting up to 20 miles I expect them to lose a bit and just tighten up, really looking forward to the start of yb racing now, first one on the 22nd from Chepstow 55 miles. |

| July 29th our first yb race. So will have to start training soon. Was intending to tomorrow but change of thinking. Will train old birds instead Break from the not training regime. Open loft is good but ...one never knows. 2 weekends to go. So pick and choose old birds. Hens will have to go. Some of them, not raced many this year. 1st toss ..depends on weather. 10 is usual then double up every next toss. Hit 40 keep them there. |

Good to hear Lofty - it is great when you have an idea your young birds know what they are doing - in theory at least. Phil |

| having problems with them not roaming so said sod it , put them in the basket took them 3 mile down the road last Friday morning and night took them twenty minutes, started again yesterday morning same place beat me back morning and night, took again this morning around 6.30 ,drove home and the kettle hadn't even boiled and they was back,
at the moment I have 18 older young birds which I am training now to race this year, and another 13 that are I think to young to go down the road so will train them separate and use them in the come back races, if they are in good feather and save for next year |

| Gave ours a wizz around the loft yesterday for and hour, 2 hours rest and came back from 20 miles to 10 miles as it was a bit warm, Luke took them and cocks out first, 12 minutes and straight through the Bob wires, hens next,15 minutes faffed about round the house for a couple of minutes but when they dropped straight in , happy lads, rest day today as its really hot and humid, good bath and they look a happy bunch of ybs, albeit a bit wet |

| I didn't train today as they said there was a chance of storms. Mine have had about 7 tosses so far. I'm 1 down so quite happy. |

| As stated, came back and went roaming. Not far enough. 20 on Sunday. Was 7 short at noon. All back now. Stress? Nah, just smoke a ciggy. Ahem, many of them! Daughter in law brought me 1200 today. From the reservation. No tax. $50. |
