PostSubject: Horrible fly   Sun Aug 06, 2017 7:01 pm

I just went down to handle my birds before I tucked them in.
And I noticed one of my hens had fly.
(Big horrible flat bloodsucking flies)
Nasty looking things.
When you open up there wings they scuttle sideways to hide amongst the feathers.
They give me the creeps.
This hen had it in her tail.
Does anyone know what gets rid of it.
I don't know if harkers one spot does the trick, but I don't think your supposed to give it to them in the moult as it leaves a check mark, but if it gets rid of them I would rather that than their blood getting sucked.

They're really hard to find David. I may have had them for months and not known because they're clever at not being seen

Permerathin spray. Ivomectin works after the fly has bitten and kills it but too late then.
