| We have two pigeons we bought from that unscrupulous Dutch bloke in a section on their own.
Their droppings are not right at all. They just look like brown 'Splats' on the floor.
They don't have watery bits and then some firmer bits - their droppings are all wet and don't smell too good either.
Their droppings look like cow pats in the summer, large, damp and 'splatty'.
Has anybody got any ideas as to what it could be and, more importantly, what could fix the problem?
Phil |

| hi phil, I suppose my first question would be what are you feeding them, but I presume your feeding all you pigeons the same food and the others droppings are not like this....are the birds looking healthy, are they hunched or loosing weight ...? have you treated them already with something...? |

| Very valid questions David.
When the birds originally arrived about 8 weeks ago, I wormed them, gave them a canker treatment and a cocci treatment and it made no difference to their droppings.
They are getting exactly the same food as everyone else and the other birds have very good droppings.
Also these two birds poo really smells. Not like a pigeon smell at all, not even like the birds droppings smell when they are on eggs or small babies. It is quite pungent.
I am at a real loss as to what to do. Phil |

| I`m in no way qualified to advise people on how to care for their birds phil, but if it was me I would firstly alter the food to something light, then give a week or so course of primalac or magic in the water, and see if it makes a difference.
I don't think dosing them up with antibiotics at this stage is the answer, the problem is there are alsorts of bacterial problems associated with pigeon health problems. |

| how old are the birds how long you had them in your possession and are the droppings slimey...if it was me I would give nifuramycin for 5 days I know its blind treating but where you sre situated it would be difficult to get droppings test especially a culture test as you have covered the minor diseases already ,you have no health history of the birds so why not start with a clean slate |

| I am no expert. But just thinking, have you acidified the water? |

| Diatomaceous earth might work. Works for most stuff. Bought a 7 lb bag today for $10. Price has gone up recently. People I know drink it with water. Seems to work for them. |
