| I think it is quite common for birds to chase other birds (even their own type) away from what they consider 'Their' area, especially at nesting times.
We see crows chasing the hawk from time to time. But I have also seen a bunch of small birds chasing a bird of prey away. Very brave little things.
As long as they are higher than the hawk, they feel safer.

| jackdaws, rooks round us , convinced I would have lost double the amount of birds had it not been for these, always early warning call and then usually mob the peregrine, although sparrow hawk too quick for any of them. |
