Changed a few paper pairings but more or less by the book
No problems no fighting hens all nodding and sweeping...
What could possibly go wrong.....

how many you planning on breeding, and is it just one round or you just adding as they are weaned...?

breeding 50 from stock loft only....i still have the parents of most my race team.
22 ybs coming in that is more than enough, could do with another pannier 2 not going to be enough tho some of the aarden and leo pronks are very small,could get a dozen in a shoe box

so your into the middle and distance racing now eh, ive only entered about 10 races in 6 years since I re started, but never fancier channel racing, I bought sprint pigeons just for inland races, but recently been liking the idea of racing over the channel, but my sprint birds wouldn't be much good for that I don't think......

never know until you try, 90s i had svr hen 2nd lillers 345m 1st beauvais 410m 6th chenoise not sure of distance maybe 460ish.
had some that couldnt do it aswell

good luck with it fw...we are pairing up Saturday ...I want to pair race and stock together to float some eggs but will be taking a few from some racers paired to spare stock hens see what a few crosses brings

72 young uns youll have then fw, that's a big team............whenever ive had over 20 I found it hard to cope with them..

Yeah i know...to many but need to sort the race team out this year..iv only been half hearted last 2 seasons...mrs health..mine.arthrites hips and back...took to the drink heavily 15ltr a day...
Mrs ok now iv stopped drinking so full steam ahead with the birds

PaI red my first ones up last Sunday. All paired just need to get to know their boxes

Fine so far a pair out at a time..must have walked 10 mile up and down from cabin to stock loft and its only 40 yards away

I`m the same, about 70 - 80 ft between the house and loft, back and forth measuring for a door.......be easier to get a pen and paper I suppose

I do it all the time I really have no excuse though, I always wear toolbags, with pencil and a piece of scrap wood

I forgot to turn the lights off in the loft last night. The hens look tired this morning.
I've got four hens sitting in nest bowls though. Maybe the chaos is winding down a little? I hope anyway

I'll be glad. The Mrs is happy too. She has been understanding so far. As long as we keep some white birds anyway

All know there boxes out one..two and 3 pair at a time each section...
Still a long way off all out together...9 each side...will before eggs a due to lay...

As you all know, have a dozen young. But never again this early. Had brutal weather. Birds fine, not the problem. Must be an age thingy ..now was deep this year and bloody colder than usual.

When do you normally pair up???

Keep of the piss FW . Here in the mid sixties 4 local smart a*se types, who knew everything about everthing type of thing, but actually knew nothing about nothing in the big picture & also were all into the pigeon caper together being all locals as such. 2 painters, one plumber & one brickie/carpenter type. One painter, flew a cracker type pigeon in his day but was an absolute piss head sadly & died young because of it unfortunately. Painter 2 he was more into the spirits in a big way & finished life carry an oxygen bottle around with him to survive till he died last week sadly. The plumber well you know his story . The brickie/carpenter, he was the only one that was smart got out of pigeons & then did the Montana type trick & went seaside to live at a place called Port Fairy here & suck in that clean/fresh ocean type air everyday. Now   what an absolute load of waffle/tripe but thats about what you lot here now have come to expect from the I suspect .
