Types of Eyes Empty
PostSubject: Types of Eyes   Types of Eyes EmptySun Jan 14, 2018 4:20 pm

anyone know if certain types of eye are more suitable for certain distance racing......for example is a pearl eye more suitable for shorter races than long distance races, or is a yellow eye more suitable for middle distance races etc etc.......

or does it depend on the family of birds which type race certain distances best...

whats yer thoughts ?

David I KNOW NOTHING but I will do my best to help out. this is my interpretation

I would say Pearl/Violet eye are more suited for short / middle distance racing

Yellow eyes are more suited for distance racing

Remember going to a show and Bill Carney was there giving advise on eyesign and he said Yellow/Orange eyes were more suited to 300+ miles

But there is always the odd one which would be different lol! lol! lol!

Knew Rob good bloke he liked his tattoos lol! lol! Rob was big friends with Eddie Wright of Old Fountain Head Lofts, but you can breed pigeons with a large first circle you take a look at any eyesign show all the winners have that same marking

jack barkel once said you can breed the type of eye you want, by pairing certain eyes together, I asked him if while doing this you also altered the physique , shape and also the wing of the bird, he said you do....but concentrating solely on the eye could create a body shape which would be all wrong.

food for thought I suppose.

Colour doesn't matter, it's just in the family, ive seen all coloured eyes in sprint, middle distant and long distant eyes.
