Agree Don. Young birds will trap fast because they think they are hungry! At the location the video was taken doubt if they could hear a can rattle.

Feed to the whistle and youngsters will trap big time

But you have to get the fine line with flying empty and flying hungry confused confused

Yes. Very fine line. Think I mentioned before. Used a whistle years ago. To get above the traffic noise. It is whatever they relate to. No traffic noise here so they come back they hit the board. Trained to go right in. To encourage them I talk to them. Safe environment. Takes time and patience but does pay off.

To clarify. Think they are hungry. From TomM.
""Tom Makowecki To get the balance RIGHT...where they are getting enough but they think they are not....It is not that tough to do , but does take some management and observation!""

No FW you feed to the whistle, it is done when the birds are called in the ones that mess about stay out and miss out the ones that come in get feed after a few times they soon know and if they don't know then there no good for racing

If you can't get through to the pigeon through its stomach then your not going to get into its head to motivate the bird to race home study study study

Feeding once a day helps.

But again. On allotments with other pigeons around could be a problem with all the whistles going off. Perhaps not if all whistles are different.
