Worth every one here to have a good read here etc Hal Wink Wink I suggest. In his day John Prior was a wizard of a flyer by our standards as such. Moukas pigeons get a mention I see there & I have an old fella in my club that was a cousin of Alan Goodger "also mentioned" & still races his pigeons even today. The fancy loft scenario Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes meant nothing to Prior bounce bounce as you would see  Wink  Wink but a happy loft was certainly important there along with the old salt trick Wink Wink & peas. cheers

Exellent post hal Very Happy good fanciers and good pigeons.
I also bought bilcos book in 81more of a pamphlet really
Still use the thumb to judge how many hours on the wing a bird could fly..nothing to do with distance like it says in the book.
Il re-read this post later cheers Smile

was looking at an article in the may 1977 edition of the pictorial, rod adams, about the long distance wing...........all the photos looked the same, he spoke about primaries, secondaries , gaps and steps........all a mystery to me, one wing looked just the same as another scratch scratch study flower

FW a gender bender? When one thinks about it, seems reasonable. Especially for coal miners. Small tunnel, ass in your face, temptation sets in.....
