| Had to turn on the water heaters for te night. Forecast minus 10. But clear tommorow and plus 2. So 12 young birds hatched Dec 28 to January 6 have their first time out. Not too much snow around. Windy forecast but now or never. Yesterday replaced a 4 x 8 plywood sheet on back of loft. Where the yearlings are nesting. Last few nights some critter has been gnawing at the bottom of the panel. Just abou got a hole through it. Cannot figure out what it could be. No bears around here. Coyotes yes but with the dogs around usually stay away. |

| No idea what it is. Badger maybe? But they are scarce around here. Not much snow so no tracks. Should snow again in a few days but minor accumalation. |

| I should keep a look out for the Abominal Snowman, our main problem is rats, they think the rat poison you buy is actually their basic diet, the only thing I have had any success with is anti freeze, but if not controlled they can be a real nuisance.
Regards. |

| Rat poisen that works. 1 cup sugar. 1 cup flour. 1 cup baking Soda. Mix. Put in containers. Rats eat it readily. Baking Soda reacts with acids in rats stomach. Rats cannot pass gas. Kills them. |
