found a use for grit the birds have left......last few days with the snow and ice on the path around the loft, I sprinkled the old grit the birds left, seems to work well enough on the paths, made it better to walk Razz Razz cheers

Good idea at face value, but what happens when the pigeons pick it up when the snows gone?

As for getting rid of the droppings etc; if you have an allotment near by I think they would be very grateful for it.

Never had a problem with the droppings from the perches, and you may get a few veg.

In the big picture David Smile Smile I suggest/suspect more grit is thrown away that what actually is taken up by our birds etc on average. Mine is rewashed & then re-used or thrown on the veggie patch where the birds are always pecking amongst the dirt as such. cheers
