My YB loft was 12 X 6 and housed about 40 max so i reckon 15-18 at a push, ideally with access to aviary or large open traps or cages on the front. I liked plenty room for birds. My widowhood cocks had 12 X 6 and only 12 cocks in there.

I would say it depends on how good your ventilation is.

I would have about 15 maybe 18 at most I always times the width by the length and divide by 3 for my old birds but as ybs get lost at least some will I divide by 2 so my 10x6 yb loft would house 30 maximum but my 8x6 for cocks only has 9 birds in ...my hen section 6x6 has 12 hens in it

For me I would say between 30/40, as my own youngbird section was 6x6

Cleaned every day Wink Wink with an open front etc & standard type perches, 40 shouldn't be an issue I suggest. One top flyer I know well Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes keeps 250 odd birds in a 20' x 7' loft & rarely has sick birds David Smile Smile. cheers
