Birds not let out today. Young birds., Old ones were out early. Cooper hawk was in attack mode but birds just went high. No damage. Have lost 2 young birds I beleive. However reading what Misty said in another thread, I beleive it is because the birds were in good feather when they started to go out. I assume will lose more, younger ones, put so far so good.
Pic of white grizzle, and younger one 2nd nest. Few red pieds etc,. Plus the odd coloured one.

Is that farm corn your feeding or commercial mix? Whatever it is those birds are looking well on it.

Farm corn. 50 lb bag $10. Add scoop of commercial mix plus whateve I think they need. They leave the peas from the commercial mix. So do not feed them until cleaned up. Old birds on same now young are all weaned. Old birds flying good. Was going to train them first time today but strong East wind. Would have blown them home so no point in it. If I can one or two 20 mile tosses in good to go. 1st race 115 short end. Long one 155. Then both stations long and short eack week increase by 50 miles. Miss the 1st race, May 5th will go weekend after. Not a problem.
