You are lucky to have such lovely birds and be able to get close to them.

WE have plenty of Blackbirds which have been singing their heads off for over a month, you cannot go anywhere without hearing them singing.

The bird table is always full of house sparrows, wood pigeons, doves, blackbirds, now starlings have arrived and hog every thing in sight, we used to have chafiches, golfinches, all the t*t families etc; but not any more.

It is agreat pity that the vast majority of the birds that visit now are not the best coloured, it would be a great joy if the house sparrow was as coloured as your
birds.

But then I still enjoy siotting and watching them.

Nature has a lot to offer and free.

Regards.

Goldfinches we have on the feeder out side the window also. Plus house sparrows, starlings and many others. Blue Jays. Also many finches. The Red Poll bird. Encountered them many years ago as they landed on the ship in mid-Atlantic. Tiny bird can fly that far? Unbeleivable but is done.

One of the small wonders of the world David Smile Smile having the native/wild type birds at your back door etc. Those I suggest, that are fortunate to be in that type of situation as such are blessed from my experience. cheers

Bad day weatherwise. Male Goldfinches did not appear. They are yellow and black. Not the UK colour. Pic of female. Hummingbird not showing colours in this light. But nesting in the mulberry tree soon as leaves appear.

Very lucky to have such beautiful wild birds close at hand.

The dog appears to be a English Bull dog looking longingly towards its homeland.

I bred canaries for over 40 years and during that time had nearly every available colour but you cannot beat seeing birds in their natural habitat, I used to keeo them the same as the pigeons other than they were confined to a open aviary and left to do as they wished, I used to put a cock goldfinch in with them and often got mules when he was a naughty boy.

But they needed more attention than the pigeons so I had to part with them.

If anyone thinks there is any advantage to old age ????.

Regards.
