Stress factor. High !!!.

Bloke that normally does the job of cocks & hens into our units we use here was in hospital. Replacement old fella bad back, knee shot & to boot an asthmatic type who had help bringing in his baskets he is that knackered etc . Unfortunately it turns out thou I was the fit one amongst our group last night. Some couldn't bend to reach the lower tiers, some couldn't reach the higher tiers in our units & most were abusing me I'm if I didn't let them all put the birds in the middle tiers we use because of their different health conditions/problems . The stress factor was high, let me tell you & what made my night a complete shambles, was when I went to pick my clock up & another flyer had taken it home, by mistake .

Silly I may be David but I'm not that silly etc . Found a solution to my predicament here thou if I do it next week as such. Have a GP doctor on hand on basket night would you believe & will ask him to give all a medical clearance before they attempt to basket & if not I will resign on the spot, as the stress is more than I can handle .

Can most certainly sympathise with your predicament, and your fellow club members I had the same problem regarding not being able to help at the transporter etc; but fortunate that the club had several fit fanciers who willingly let me sit it out but that did not suit me, I always wanted to do my bit, what was a real delight was the club had a young fancier, and a good one at that, he put a chair on one side and said just sit down, Oh, if only we had another 20,000 like him.

Having been Chairman for many years I have found that it is an impossibility to make every fancier happy, if you can make the club function in a relatively happy manner you are doing well.

If there is anything more baffleing than a human being then I do not want to meet it.

Do not jump from the frying pan into the fire knackered, matters here are in need of drastic action if the sport is to survive in any meaningful manner.

Most fanciers are just not concerned about the sport in general all they are worried about is being able to race their birds, that is until it is too late and things start to affect them.

Don't quite know about the frying pan/fire Misty But just about to jump off a cliff down here for the enjoyment factor etc seeing things are that bad down my way in the sport .
