That is a bunch of pigeons!! South wind here today. Not good as we compete with London, 50 miles North. Same release. First race tomorrow. Club went to the 115 miler (for me anyway, the distance.) 4 members shipped about 200 between us. I put in 15. 5th member will ship next week. Not trained enough he said. He has had them 40 miles 4 times. Mine have been to 4 tosses. 12, 20, 20, 40. Last one way over a week ago. Still they loft fly over two hours. Many members held their birds back. 4 of them can ship the YB limit. 60. First few races are usually a disaster for some. I held 25 or so back due to moult. The ones banded in January are only 4 flights out. Lights on aka longest day. Some later ones are up to 7 out. No matter they go next week. Weather is South wind, 35C chance of thunderstorm. Really who cares? Members were talking about the heat, time liberated and other stuff that may affect them. They asked me. Said the good ones will come OK. No matter the weather etc,. Maybe not win but will return and do better next week. Member ex-cop said with the way you train etc, you will be out of it. Said so what? Who won the first young bird race last year anyway? He went beet red! Have a 40 mile overfly on him. But still beat him. No matter for me the methods employed. Good birds will come through. May not clock one tomorrow. So be it. Have enough for a few weeks anyway.

May appear a bunch of pigeons Hal Wink Wink But Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad half are missing by night fall etc unfortunately for some reason on what most thought a near perfect type day as such. Best flyer in the land in my view here bounce bounce had over an hour between his 2 teams for some reason & another flyer of some repute lol! lol! lol! I've mentioned often here Wink Wink had I believe about 10 home on pull over time etc out of 90 odd birds. cheers

I sent 4 got 3 Home and I’m 2nd 9th 10th from Sleaford, but they’ve had a smash on the south road from Poole here it’s onlly 120 miles they were up  at around 6 some time, and at 11 o’clock a friend only had 1 out of 7, and another bloke that’s been high in the Fed every race only had 6 out of 26.
You need plenty of pigeons and deep pockets to fly that south road.

Hot as hell! First bird came from the North. London clubs. Other birds not even checked for 30 mins after first one nothing. Time of arrival and band rubber number emailed in.
This bird is a good one! Mother a white stray from Southern US covered in oil last year. Bred to a red cock. This is the type of pigeon I want! Go it alone.

Welsh south road fed at bedhampton again and had another smash of a race, loads of birds missing at the minute, dont know why they still go there scratch

Anyway, our babies are away to Swindon , 18 of them, held a few back just in case, fingers crossed for decent returns, could do with them back (gave them all a kiss and a cwtch just to be sure Very Happy )

Glad the pirat pair had a good race O/S etc. Blokes jumping of a cliff here Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes with our race yesterday as such Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad from 250 odd miles. Pull over time bounce bounce about 15/20% home. One block unfortunately 2/52 another 0/32 & poor old Mr 32 Smile Smile at the toss this morning wasn't feeling much better with his returns today unfortunately Wink Wink also. Now Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad to help explain maybe why they weren't happy. A member here puts gps trackers on his pigeons each week here "3" to follow what they get up to type of thing come race day. One over shot his loft by 200 odd miles  yesterday & also was 200 odd miles west of where it should have been some how. Turned up on dark on the day, flying some thing like 550 miles instead of 250 miles to it's loft etc. Same bloke Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes every week Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad week in week out has 6 pigeons down at my favourite Vet clinic lol! lol! lol!. Gets a discount Smile Smile " I think" but it still costs him $75 per bird every week, week in week out Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes through out our season Smile Smile would you believe. cheers

Got 13 out of 18 at the minute, hopeful for the others though, 95 miles and we were clocking at 1hr 49 minutes so a pretty quick one, I think around 1500 + velocities today, clocks are at 12 so will let you know how it goes

Bit off the pace but pleased as it was their first race, got 15 out of the 18 at the minute so we may still get the others, winners were at 1573 and we were 1521 so not to bad, they’ll get better , I hope Very Happy
Will know the final result next week
