| Attempts and suggestions to introduce the Eagle Owl into the UK were thwarted on the grounds that they were not originally a native species.
There is no chance here that raptors of any kind will be kept within reasonable numbers.
We have crime out of control, people in London dare not walk down the street in some places, no police in sight, ring them and say you have seen an injured peregrine and 12 police vans with countless officers will be there in seconds.
Regards. |

| According to the latest information there are a number of pairs spread out throughout the country, never heard of any close by.
There is a dispute if they should be included in the protection Act or not, the main reason is that they prey on other raptors and although it is alright for the other raptors to prey on other protected species, they do not want the same to apply to Eagle Owls.
One rule for one etc;

| Yes oldstrain , heard the same, they do not like there raptors being killed but are doing the same to the Eagle Owls, which are easier to kill.
They spend hours and vast amounts of money protecting raptor nests 24 hours a day etc;
But are selective when matters affect, although naturally, what they deem right.
In my opinion if you do not control all matters evenly, then you should not interfere at all.
The raptor problem has been caused by artificial means, breed and release etc; and in unnatural habitats, of species that would if left alone have found a balance in the remaing natural habitats.
AS we all know the RSPB is a business and is not doing the job inicially intended by the old ladies who founded it.
Their intention was to ensure the future of the song and small bird populations and not the over population of raptors.
Can see no real prospect of changing matters, very few people are actually concerned about anything, self gratification being the norm.
Sad, so very sad.
Regards
