A good video to advertise the sport at the time but the vast majority did not participate in the manner indicated most were miners with allotment lofts or back garden lofts and very few participated in the big races.

This is part of the problem today, instead of showing how easy it is to become a fancier everything indicates you need to be just this side of a millionaire to do so..
