High Winds in Leeds Today

cant do anything in the garden today, too windy.........

been windy here too ...sunday will be worse though

Not to bad here mild and the wind wasn't to bad at all thought it might have been a lot stronger

a lot calmer here today, wind died down for now..........but got rain instead

One or two big branches down on the way home this evening

yes, some big branches down off our weeping willow this morning, less to prune next year for birds trapping

That's one way to look at it

less money too mark, wasn't cheap getting it done last year.......trouble is it grows quickly, and its in the way of my new loft for birds coming in to land

I had one race mark..............

ybs wernt exercising around the loft at all, no ranging, nothing......they decided they preferred to sit in the weeping willow tree.

time was getting on so I decided to try train them, I lost half of them before they even got to their first race, after missing the first 3 yb races I thought I`d better throw them in at 57 miles even though they had very little training, I sent 9 and ended up getting 4 back, so never bothered sending again.

anyway, now ive a very small old bird team for next season

You are not alone David in losing young birds either racing or training.

You cannot blame hot weather for the last few races and yet losses are still way higher than normal.

I think the real reason is that the win at any cost methods have run their course and the fancy will have to deal with the consequences.

Have you noted Russia has threatened Israel David?.

yes, they are not happy with Israel misty, and rightly so when Israel were instrumental in bringing down a Russian plane over Syria.......as far as I know they didn't actually fire the weapon, but were over Syrian air space causing mischief , which resulted in Syrian anti aircraft weapons bringing the Russian plane down by accident.

Happening all over the place here Misty with the losses issue. Club mate of mine "money to burn" in a race on Sunday here $100,000 for the winner etc from around 450 miles into a dead set header by the forecast. Rings cost $100 each & he has 23 in the race & would be just happy to just get one if it won the jackpot type of thing . Another tale another flyer here shouted the bar on Wednesday night for everyone there, when basketing for our Tassy race at the weekend as such. Just won $40,000 odd in a OLR 11 landed together & his went in first the rest walked away with a packet of peanuts each for all their trouble .

That is one of the things that appears a bit ?????, when several pigeons land together and the winner is determined by going through a bob hole first.

If I had my way the landing board would be the means of fitting the electronic timer and the first bird landing would be the winner.

I did bring this point up many moons ago.

Could be so Misty 10 to 1 your way maybe I suggest with the race under discussion etc . Winner thou could just turn it into a legal bum fight, with no one winning in the end except the legal eagles so to speak .

protecting their own , what in Syrian air space...........what were they doing there ?

it appears Israel have launched 100`s of air strikes into Syria, and no one says a thing about it......in fact Israel seem to do whatever they want, and the world keeps quiet.

The Syrians were firing rockets in to Israel. The Isralies were taking out the firing sites. They were back in Israli air space before the Russian plane went down. According to the CBC news here.

funny how the same old story comes out when Israel attack another country ....."they were firing rockets at us" , every time its the same answer......and its all lies, they always play the victim, just retaliating , unbelievable. truth is Israel are a very aggressive, trouble making country, they are the true terrorists, making war with all the neighbouring countries to achieve their goal of a "greater Israel", which in simple terms means they are wanting to claim more land, incorporating as much of the surrounding countries as they can...... but Syria is standing in their way, and so is iran.

even if the Syrians or the palastinians were firing "rockets", that's more or less what they were....fireworks, nothing would get anywhere near the jewish people because of the iron dome defence system.

Trump would call it fake news. But again, I am thousands of miles away so does not bother me. We have refugees crossing from the US to Canada. Thousands. But it will always be a problem, refugees. Always some countries in conflict. 50's Hungarians came to the UK. No problems with them. Some excellent pigeon fliers.
But times change. Each has their own ideas.

How does one explain how a virtual cottage country dictate to powers that have a thousand fold advantage in every respect ?.

The Jews have been treated in a totally unacceptable manner in many countries for many years.

They will shortly all return to their Home Land, to which they are entitled, and woe betide the rest of the world.
