| Went to let the young ones out. Sun here plus 2 C. Peregrine sitting on the trap looking in! Handsome bird. Got the .22 but he spotted me and took off. He is getting braver. Usually tries for them in the air. Birds stay in today. |

| No one close. West of me about 2 miles or so. Actually I would have hesitated to shoot him. He was such a handsome bird! Impressed me! Then thought if I kill him another takes over the territory. Better the devil you know. I assume the birds are familiar with him attacking when they fly. They can avoid him. They can outfly him in a straight line. So will leave as is. He gets one or two so be it. |

| It is a fact Hal, that as one gets older the more one considers killing any animal less appealing, when young a catapult and a small pebble and nothing was safe, later the same with a gun, there are times when it is, due to circumstances, the only solution but still not one to be proud of.
I have shot animals that have attacked my pigeons but when seen them dead felt little or no satisfaction, would rather they had stayed in their own habitats, but circumstances unfortunately determine actions.
Regards. |

Regards. very true misty, I feel no satisfaction harming an animal, hawk etc, would protect my birds at all times, but rather they stayed away and not bothered them. |

| I have caught many. If not taken care of they return. They are exceptionally smart. In town no fear of humans. They eat garbage etc,. People feed them, some have them as pets. Out here in the boondocks different matter. Possums, others I release. |

| Got to be done, all part of managment. Pity more hadn't done the same with birds of prey that target lofts.... Oh I forgot...they did when people were paid to manage the wildlife in there areas... You know when there was more of a natural ballance... We had flocks of ground nesting birds...choirs of song birds... Then along came "the suits" the armchair "naturalist" |

| The Animal Rights Brigade let mink out of the breeding station by breaking in and they have caused considerable damage over the past few years.
We also have otters killing the fish in our fisheries, our local mere is being made otter proof, hopefully, as they have been using it as their personal larder.
Otters are a protected species.
Wish there was a asolution so that all could live in harmony.
Regards. |

| Same here regarding mink farms. Many were let out. Few years ago. Many guys quit raising them. They did not have enough fences, security. Chicken farmers are much better prepared. |
