That is one of the problems in the sport.

The willingness of fanciers to offer a helping hand, free, both to existing fanciers and prospective fanciers is never given the publicity it deserves, everything is commercial based to assist the studs etc;

When a prospective fancier sees pigeons being sold for thousands of pounds he/she does not realise that a gift pigeon could in fact be far better in every respect.

The sports publications does not help matters either, many items would make an interested potential fancier think you need a bottomless pocket to compete.

The sport actually needs publicity outside the confines of the BHW and the RP.

It is no good preaching to the already enlightened.

Regards.

As you know I have offered many pigeons on here FREE but not many wanted them strangely enough, if I put 40 pound on them they would go. People think when free something is wrong . But you learn you lesson and gone go from here now

Mark what an outstanding offer. If only I was able I would be up to yours in a flash. Yes and donate to a charity of your choice. I loved reds - indeed all colours. It made the neighbours Pigeon friendly and they loved to see them. Now Red Grizzle, in deed till later in time I just never seemed to be able to keep.
Yes well done Mark. A credit to our sport.

I have had some great results in last few years with van bels thanks to don Webb and again could sell them all day but they are going nowhere as I am not in the sport to sell or make money. Just obsessed with winning I'm afraid

Hope someone has taken these off mark, I’ve had birds from him and can vouch for the quality and condition of his birds, super they are, if the old boy who finished in our club didn’t bring his birds to us I would have had them for sure

I do not know about Van Bell but Ian Bells video is well worth a viewing, No grilles, NO cleaning out following with a scraper, nor any treatment other than when returning from a race.

His pigeons look the goods and those close up have eye sign to delight the enthusiasts.

Could learn a lot from him if interested in widowhood, not my cup of tea but a reasonable approach to those who do.

Regards.
