I know many that would have them … but would feel some would sale on. that's why I wouldn't suggest or do it Phil.

Feel now, after the good endeavour it is time to advertise and sale them mate. We on here have had good and fair notice. J.M.O.

Put a price on them then they'll go. Been there giving pigeons away free. Nobody wants them as they think something is wrong . Put 40 pound on them and everything is ok . Some strange people in the pigeon game

I can almost guarantee that will not work Ray.

I'm truly fed up of trying to do nice things for people and having it all come back in my face - so that's me finished.

They can go in the bin!

Phil. Why not keep them? Strains, distances do not always correspond. Well worth a try!

So true! A pigeon doesn't know if its supposed to be a 500 miler or a sprinter just because of what's on it's pedigree. Many decent channel pigeons been discovered by fanciers sending birds that never done a thing sprinting to the last channel race end up pleasantly suprised. Same with say Jan Aardens, bet plenty of these have performed well in the shorter races. But if you have too many pigeons not in your future plans hopefully someone gives them a try....

Every so called breed has a mixture of long, short and possible distance pigeons, those wanting certain distance to win at just discard those that would possibly win at all other distances as I have pointed out many times previously.

If you specialize over a long period towards one distance then the probability is that the genes for that distance has been strengthened and more pigeons capable of dong the distance asked and at the right speed will emerge, stop concentrating the genes and the whole breed will retutn to the stus quo.

Pity to take it out on the pigeons because of the foolishness of fanciers.

Regards.
