| As I have said many times, Knackered, viruses etc; are far brainier than man, as you think you have them under control then they go another way to annoy.
The whole problem started when fanciers started using clinical conditions instead of letting the pigeons build natural immunity, deal with the problems yes but not by anti biotics, survival of the fittest, many may have died in the process but not have continualy mutated into even worse problems.
If one thinks the existing problems are bad just keep on doing what you do now and YOU ANINT SEEN NOTHING YET.
Regards.

| yes the virus will keep turning corners until it goes round the block and gets you from behind so to speak mr w must be in for a big payday ...top avian vet whom I do respect henk de weerd openly says the pmv virus is mutating but it does make the immune system kick in ...we now have vaccines for pmv,paratyphoid/salmonella(bacterial)herpes,i think theirs one for e-coli to which of course is bacterial at least their was talk of one theirs one for every day of the week it seems ...how long for the rota to come into play here with all the exports,there were confirmed cases in germany last yr at times I think of reverting to show racers with all the problems |

| May be a good idea Show Racers, I suggested that fanciers may go that way some time ago, to keep an interest until matters regarding the racing side may pick up, instead of leaving the sport all together.
Have several friends in the show scene but there are less shows now and travelling Is a problem, if more became involved you could have more local shows.
I can in all honesty not see any long term future for the racing fraternity.
Showing does not involve all the different aspects as in racing and is not realy all that time consuming and they are wonderful birds just to look at and await the new arrivals for color and shape etc;
Better to be involved with our feathered friends, it is not nice without them.
Regards.

| I would love a few pairs as pets but apparently their not good feeders so I have been told maybe that's not true and anyway a few pair of racers could be surrogate ...fantastic birds to look at and the odd show would be fun |

| Oldstrain, I used to get as much pleasure showing as racing and everything is ON SHOW for all to see, not as much luck regarding weather and raptors etc; as racing.
Found the show people have a good time at the actual shows win, draw or lose.
No need to breed many, just a few good ones, not easy with some of the specialists to beat, but hey, when you do ??????.
Regards.

Take slime, not literally lol … Now it has no brain. Can't see, or able to smell etc. Probably could be class a living dead organ I suppose. Yet it devours foods. Amazing HOW can it detect and find it?! Another mazing thing is that it reproduces! Further it leaves trails so involving that it is on parr with London Underground. How? Why, is simpler to understand. It is because the new living, blind and brainless slime cells can follow these trails for their food!

| Talking about living species, be it animals us etc. Trees Flowers and so on, now we have discovered that Strawberries - a rarity with just a few others as such - are male and female. How they jump a generation or two is also a mystery. Reproducing?
Like the wasp. If it wasn't for the wasp, there wouldn't be any wine! the wasp lands and feeds, but under it's belly it has two barrel like structures full of yeast which it leaves some. |
