| if all are in agreement mark yes, 25 was reasonable i thought ....... i know some members have said it would be nice if darren could breed more than 2 birds for our syndicate, maybe 4 if we can afford four, he did remind me of something which would benefit us regarding courier fees to get them to the one loft, he told me he would take them him self personally, therefor saving us courier fees, which would be a great help. |

| We have forgotten to thank the other fancier who provided the other two youngsters last year, possible they were killed by raptors etc; the first week in the loft etc; the One Lofts are no walk overs.
Regards.

| so 13 members so far would get us 13 x 25 = 325 , plus prize money for 44th and 100th place in the final .........plus half of what the birds make in the auction = ???
if its 125 per bird to enter (i think it is ) it looks like we can easily afford to send 4 again . |

| yes correct misty also half the money they fetch in auction ,well bred fancy peds so should attract reasonable dosh ...not that the peds matter to me mind you but they are handy when inbreeding ,the birds will have paid for themselves with the auction money and prize money combined atb |

| Yes pedigrees are helpful at times.
But only a very small number of any BREED are any good or fanciers would not have to breed thousands every year.
I found brothers or sisters of proven breeders, irrespective of breed, better brothers, onto several well bred hens also from proven breeders, was the best way.
Bred a fair number of good performers for me and many others, using that method, never worried about breed, had many brothers to top class breeders and did not cost the earth by looking for genuine fanciers.
But no one can argue that to have two out of two in the final is an achievement in itself, and on consecutive times, should point this out prior to the sale.
Regards.

| Yes agree. Peds sell birds. Strain names etc,. My pedigrees are the colour of the birds, usually reds. Because they performed or bred performers. Some did not so are no longer here. TMak Oude Vos way back. Jannssens originally. However, have good feelings about the whites. So will cross them. All a matter of preference. Some blues are excellent also. But again, performance is the only option. |

| Funny things pigeons, or humans for that matter.
Some of the best ever pigeons have originated from the most unexpected places and then gone on to found a BREED.
As with athletes in humans etc;
If every pedigree of some BREEDS were looked into closely ??????.
As far as I can see, if a fancier pairs two pigeons together the offspring are his/her BREED.
Regards.
