Loft Progress so Far ...

Agree with what you say David, with the addition that the Jews will come to their senses and accept they were wrong and accept Jesus and gain his protection.

Time will tell, but things are going according to expectations of those who believe.

Never see Trump unfortunately going against Israel etc  I'm That close family thing with his immediate family coming to the fore for what I see.

Seems quite a few are against Israel and Jews. My case not against any one culture. Except illegal immigrants and Muslims etc,. Must say, very many years ago life was saved by an Israeli. Returned the favour few times. Different era and circumstances. Same as any culture. There are good and bad. But each to their own thoughts.

A large proportion of religion in Israel is Greek Orthodox not Judaism. Run of the mill Israelis are no different to ourselves, they don't want war, terrorism or unrest, no level headed person would!
Unfortunately like any other country there are religious extremists and politicians of several opposite beliefs with no common ground.
But being ill-informed and saying all Jews are bad is no different to saying all English are football hooligans.

making a start on the roof today, not sure how far i`ll get, but not much let to do once the roof is on ...........

Think both sides have good bad and indifferent points of view.

Think both should meet in the middle and perhaps find solutions, MAYBE.

i dont think snow is coming any time soon misty, i hope not anyway ..........its certainly cold though .

started the roof today, managed to get the back all done and tiles fitted, also got the 10ft sheet of poly carbon fitted above the corridor along the front of the loft, so now just needs 4 rows of 2 1/2 tiles each side of the poly carbon sheet, then its done ...........i`d say once thats done im around 85 % done, and only small jobs to do on it before the birds go into their new home

You know, many roads lead to Rome. Gary Edmunds (Best fancier I ever knew), was hell bent in having see through strips on the roof. His uncle, a great fancier too, especially at the distance and hard days had hardly any light in the loft. Just enough. Kept them quiet and restful he said.
Mind Gary's were active in the loft more, but out the loft after flying would just lay on the lawn. Wings spread out and soaking up the weather/ sun or not. You would have to step over them.
Barry's were so tame they would place themselves in his hand like lol.

Know the feeling of near completion of a loft David from the orange box and straightening nails era.

latest on the loft build .........roof all on and water tight, just need a door making for the main entrance and the windows sorting out, was thinking of dowelling so just put polly carbon windows for now to keep rain out

after 18 months of the shell being up with no roof on, it wont be long now .........

just need to clear up a bit ......

like the loft david ...plenty light getting in to,would like a apex but no go here with council

True looking good etc a bit of old & a bit of new as such I could/would say I suggest. Glad it's David thou that will be using the old scraper trick before the paint brush comes out to finish things of there for the queens visit for the grand opening & the new Brexit scenario .

Looks built to last David, have ideas of letting it out as a weekend retreat should our sport fall by the wayside?.

Looks close to the house our Council has restrictions regarding how near the house a loft can be.

Councils One bloke here Misty got into all sorts of trouble recently etc he erected a simple hill horst in his back yard for drying his washing etc neighbours all up in arms didn't fit well with them, complained & council told him to take it down. Hate to say what would have happened if he put a pigeon loft up beside his hills horst as such . End of the story, all finished up on TV     council had egg on their face & he kept his hills horst for his washing.

a local fancier, who is in my club........has a double tier loft roughly the same distance away from his house as mine, he did have to apply for planning permission which said the loft had to be either under 4m high, or the permission was because it was over 4m high, i cant remember what he said ......but apart from that hes had no problems in the 40 years its been there .

Had a council type bloke come knocking on my door here once some one complained about my birds invading their air space above there house when out flying etc. Asked me where was my permit was & I said you have it (didn't exist) as my lofts were up before I build my house. Not to be defeated he then asked me for a complete list of all the local pigeon flyers in my area so he could check things out as such . Still waiting thou I'm for the list, as it was nearly 20 odd years now .

Yes the law of the land says - I believe - at least a metre and half - or such - away from the house. Can't be bothered to look it to though.

councils are public servants , they work for us ...........they own nothing, they are not a judiciary and cannot impose fines etc etc.

the council are not welcome on my land / property , and un invited will be given burglar status ........
