Can't praise enough Empty
PostSubject: Can't praise enough   Can't praise enough EmptyTue Jan 21, 2020 4:39 pm

My son suffers from epileptic seizures. Lives on his own … but often has company.
Last Saturday he had a bad one. Also took a lot of vomit down into his lunges. Cousin phoned an ambulance, fortunately. He went into a coma and into intensive care. The Hospital was great per usual. They nigh emptied his lunges etc. He came round this dinner time. Yes a mite mind boggled but … Obviously he will be in there for a while. First in medical care ward, then - hopefully into another ward and home.
Never have, and still can't ever praise out hospitals and N.H.S. enough.

Feel for your son etc Daz Smile Smile with his predicament there, I truly do & his close family as such bounce bounce as I for many years have had trouble with a condition called essential tremor here by the Neurologist experts, who actually in part Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes was the reason I didn't clock on yesterday with my normal sad waffle  Wink  Wink  as I had a visit with him as such. Fortunately thou Smile Smile I have a wife handy most days/times, when things go belly up in a big big way with my condition  Rolling Eyes  Rolling Eyes as many stories I could tell about/with my predicament, that would have you rolling in the aisle with laughter in some ways I suspect Very Happy Very Happy when strange type things happen bounce bounce when I pick up a knife/folk/spoon & especially, unfortunately a pen or pencil Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad.   cheers

It has always amazed me that the ones with the least to moan about, do the most moaning.

Having been associated with many handicapped people of all ages over a prolonged period I very rarely heard any complaints, whilst some of the carers spent all the time moaning about insignificant problems. ( I must add the carers do a magnificent Job)

At times one feels completely at a loss as to how one can help.

Regards.

Well he is doing fine. Confined to bed in the Intensive care unit, for the next 2-3 days. Then will go into a Medical ward. Now only on one antibiotic, so that's good. Has had his lunges drained of vomit etc. Yes he is making good progress, doc's pleased, as we all are.
He lives by himself as he has for many years, Independent. Yes, we and friends and relatives have for some time been visiting and keeping an eye on him.
How lucky was he on Saturday night when a cousin visited and he was out cold swallowing his own vomit having had a Epileptic seizure. Which he has sometimes. But this time … Still. Thank you all for you best wishes, most appreciated I can assure you all. Thanks.

Ours here is good. Yet many complain. Hallway medicine prevails at many hospitals. Over 100% full last few years. People are not getting sicker. Just more going in with minor ailments. At the docs yesterday. All is well. Good doc. Welshman.

My son has worked for the NHS for over 30 years, the problems are not with the staff but the managers, many who would not know the difference between a Wish Bone and a Back Bone.

The salaries they get could be put to far better use.

Our hospitals here Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes are being clogged up with sore thumb type people or you sneeze once & you call an ambulance as it's a major emergency factor time for them Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad & genuine type cases are now at times in a system called tanking at our hospitals. Where by they can sit at a hospital in an ambulance for up to 18 hours at times before receiving the attention they require so badly from the proper expert types there. Sad Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes but it is what it is unfortunately. cheers

The same applies here Knackered, A&E often crowded out with louts of all descriptions with self inflicted problems.

Police often having to be called.

Many of those involved never done a honest days work in their life.

Should be separate units for the self inflicted problems and if they have to wait it will maybe teach them to better behaviour.

yes misty, people going to A&E for minor injuries / problems, taking up valuable time and resources ......also drunks, druggies receiving preferential treatment and jumping to the front of the queue etc .

our local hospital has constant police presence , with a room of their own to combat any violence or trouble , which usually comes from those who shouldnt be in A&E being told they wont be seen .

Can't praise enough Empty
PostSubject: Re: Can't praise enough   Can't praise enough EmptyFri Jan 24, 2020 11:31 am

A couple of weeks ago a doctor phone me at 6 O'clock. Had had a blood test at 2. 15. Told me to go the hospital 'Now' as I had critical Potassium. that I was most likely to stay and a bed was available etc. Was there 20 minutes later. Went to the
A & E. The doc told me a doctor would expecting me.. be there before 7!
Queue horrendous. Was near 9. 30 went got to see person to decide where and what was happening. Waited another hour and then Took another blood test. Was 11 30 when seeing a doctor. Had another blood test. Another half hour I went with that doctor to see another when that doctor took me to see another, and where a bed was. Was Same Day' treatment clinic. The other doc came 15 minutes later to say 'Good News'. Th blood tests show that the Potassium is falling fast! I think you can go home tonight - well this morning, but you will be here tomorrow at 8.30. Home nearly 2 O'clock. The Matron told me at least 60% of that queue should even be here … But excuse is that they work day time and ... v(Well do I like use to, go dinner time, leave work early as such and get to the doctor OR CHEMIST!
I had to go 4 times to the hospital in the next 5 days. then check myself every day and give the doc surgery the results.
Yes misty It is the ignorance and selfish attitude of 'People' that is also a problem.

Now our hospital has this week a sign up showing up in bold red letters./ telling people that due to... unless it is Heart, or life threatening to go to Corby or such as they haven't the time to see them! Quite right too, because it has been a burden for many years and getting worse by the day.
