bereavement sale....

just been told about this sale which will be on the 5th july where there will be some top birds for sale if any of our members are interested....

Due to the untimely death of Ian Hinchcliffe, of Mr & Mrs Hinchcliffe Ledston Luck, Kippax we have organised and entire clearnace sale on behalf of his lovely wife Doreen.
The venue for the sale is at the Normanton Federation HQ, Cutsyke Working Mens Club, Ackton Road, Cutsyke, Castleford, West Yorkshire WF10 5JB, commencing 3-15 pm Sunday 5th July 2009.
Ian has spent a fortune on obtaining some of the most upto date pigeons there are, in the sale will be 40 pigeons, mainly directs from Cyriel Lambrech himself and the legendry Bill Duckworth from Darwin, Manchester. Ian has flown at the top level for many of years, winning everything there has been to win, including topping the mighty Mid Yorkshire Combine from 500 miles aswell as winning consistantly every year in our best sprint club around, the Cutsyke two bird club.
No money was ever spared, and these pigeons would never be for sale if the circumstances were different, Ian had bought a stock foundation to last for many years to come.
These lambrech birds will compete against any top birds around, and are quickly becoming a sprint/ middle distance sensation within our area, Ian being one of the very first to bring the birds over here.
Everything must be sold and nearly all birds have pedigrees with them which will be on the pens on the day.
Ians very best friend, Mick Simpson of Tadcaster won 17x 1sts last year with the very asme birds, and already this season has won every land race bar one, taking the first four and five on most occasions, aswell as topping the fed at least three times.

some good pigeons there david are you going to sale

wouldnt mind going ian, you are right ....some great birds for sale. might see if i can go but its a bit late in the day for me, but well see.

The birds on sale are quality and if you have the money people can make some good investments in these's pigeons

These's are winning in my area also

A comment from Dave Allen when he was the auctioneer at the old commrades show and he always said pay £100 pounds for one pigeon of quality or pay £100 pounds for 10 pigeons which may not be of the same quality??

Top quality pigeons come at a price but they will pay you back with top quality pigeons

Look at the horse racing scene, the top trainers always pay good money for quality horses

yes don i agree, quality bird by the look of it...would have liked to have gone and bought some but a bit short notice for me.......altho if i do get time i will see if i can get there.....

If you could get some young ones from the main birds then you are half way there but look at the young ones and look to see what charactor they are or see if you can see the parents in them

yes will try don, could do with a different strain of bird as i only have one at the moment and i think different breeds/strains are needed for different races and conditions....one family cant do it all.....(or maybe they can?)

yes don i agree, a few differnt strains then im ready for anything.....

must say if you are trying to get different strains for different types of racing you can make this sport hard work

If i was you i would concentrate on inland racing then work on getting some distance pigeons then you will be able to see what type of racing you like

hi don, to be honest im not really interested in channel racing....if i can race inland for a while i may start to think about the channel at a later date....

This is what happens when most fanciers win out of turn on sprint racing they then turn to racing from the distance and it's a different ball game

never really been into channel....and no desire to alter that even in future....

Same here i like sprint racing and would keep to that type of racing when i restart in the sport
