HOW ABOUT LIFTING OUR SPIRITS AND NOT THE ALCHOHOLIC KIND.

How about forgetting all the doom and gloom and sorting some shows out to see us through what promises to be a long Winter.

I think a few unusual or funny stories relative to our sport (or not) must be within the scope of the members.

Anything that can enlighten our spirits and maybe have a good laugh or two.

Well won't be any pigeon shows. Nor theatre, picture etc. etc. this second spike will be till at least March, then 2 more or so to follow1 like wise another one in the wings besides the Flu etc. the pale horse is riding Misty.

Mind there are plenty of things to talk about ... seeing and hearing might be hard though lol.

As most are aware, I have 4 dogs. 2 old fellows. One got in to pesticide spray and days are numbered. However, the big Mastiff. Let him loose on a night then tie him up. Comes back in. Female is loose also. Wife and I are sitting at the table playing dominoes. He is out of site behind me. Soon I feel laser beams on the back of my head. Then stronger. "Getting closer?" I ask. "Yes" she replies. She can see him. He just stand and stares at my head. "I need a crash helmut", I say. I never turn to look at him. Then closer he comes. Then my wife starts laughing at him. Then I stand up and he howls. He has won!! So take him for a walk. The whole idea behind his performance!

Fully agree wth the last remark Daz, things moving very fast.

I meant shows on the forum and tales of hits and misses.

There could be shows for different classes, oddest, most pied, one I would take home etc;

There is nothing more rewarding and enjoyable than having our four legged friends.

I have mixed feelings, when you take on one of our four legged friends in most cases you know you may out live them, when the inivitable happens it is like losing your best friend.

Misty is 10 years old. my wish would be that we go together, I could not deal with his loss, and worry about his future if I go first.

Misty cannot actually read the clock but knows the time he has his meals and when we take him out.

Cannot put a price on the love and affection one receives.

Whilst humans obviously come first, animals come a close second.

Ok after seeing the latest news here etc Misty I've decided to write a book of sorts  a comedy/tragedy. Called Trump, is Trumped .

hope some shows are on here, but too early yet due to moulting probably a month to 6 weeks and most fanciers birds might be somewhere near.

Remember in my seamans days I and a bunch of others off the ship bought a camel. All drunk. Egypt I think. Alexandria. Our mascot. Tried to get it up the gangway on to the ship. It kicked a few, bit a few and spit on the rest of us. It got loose and headed for me. Health before honor! I outran it!!!

yes misty this thought entered my head when we got our current dog 8 years ago.....our two previous dogs both lived to be 17 years old, so as this is similar breeding i expect her to live another few years yet, but also as she is getting older so am i, and as im the main carer for her i sometimes worry if she would be ok if i wernt around, as my wife could not look after her, as much as she would try, and my daughter although young enough couldnt manage her on her own as the dog is quite a handful ........so ideally i prefer to out live the dog then i know she has had a decent life and nature has taken its course.

then again i have these thoughts for my pigeons too........if i dont feed them no one will, they are reliant on me, but i suppose everyone feels like this at some point eh

best way is to try forget these thoughts or we`ll drive our selves crazy .......

One experience I could have done without with was when a very good friend was courting a nurse and his stories of shinanigins with her were out of this world.

One day he gave me the good/bad news that she was pregnant and had to get married.

They got married and he was looking forward to the birth of his son/daughter.

He was over the moon when he found out he could attend the birth.

The day after the birth he came over and said would I feel like emigrating with him as he was as sick as a parrot.

I though maybe the baby had some thing wrong health wise and said" What on earth is the mattter".

He said "I saw the birth and the baby was as black as the ace of spades"

It transpired she had been having an affair with a doctor.

Alan's parents said they would take the baby on to give the couple a fresh start.

Unforetunately, Alan would have none of it and they divorced.

LIFE.
