| need to sort my garage electrics out colin, when i altered it i had to undo the switches / sockets off the walls, just left them hang........but need to extend the wiring to take them further around the walls, never liked messing with electric, need to get someone in to sort it i think.
once its done i can plug an extension accross over to the new loft, with it being at the side now ,always handy to have a light in the loft .
which wormer did you use colin ...? |

| David did you see any evidence of your birds passing worms mate?
Nothing obvious here, but not so easy to see by torchlight. |

| Must say, never treated hardly for Worms or Canker. Never had a need too.
If I ever did a clean out, it would have been a full Baytril and Canker mix for 5 days. Probably 3 or 4 times in last 20 years or more. Then that was when adding new birds which were kept separate. Mind, like Lice, is needed. A mild strain of Canker is good. Stops any more or other infecting the bird. Lice keep the feathers in brill condition. Was why the 'Smock' was so popular. had a couple of Club mate whinge once handling the birds to race pannier. So I gave them a early morning bath race basketing days. Which is very good for them any way! Actually, we are responsible for a deep rooted canker that is prevalent and harmful to our pigeons. Yes we are the main - if only culprits!
Looking out across the road, or in back garden. Wild pigeons are immaculate and fit for racing. No two ways about that. Hardy and fit. Good conditions. The shine on them very paramount. Yep I'd wager if I caught six, sent the to a 3 or more hundred race, they'd be up front coming back. They would be flying to a territory that they love and are contented with, in great condition if they want to. Self motivation is everything I believe.
We can't / could never get a condition like nature gives them. |

| like i said the other week daz, the birds still in the old loft who rough it compared to the birds in the new loft, are looking in lovely condition, maybe pigeons are best not being spoilt by giving alsorts of potions etc . i missed doing mine for cocci, canker worms last year, so did expect to at least see a few worms this time, but nothing ...... |

| yep, treating blind is a big no no, i much prefer a routine preventative.........before breeding and racing starts, hopefully preventing the "throw any antibiotic" at them stage |

i missed doing mine for cocci, canker worms last year, so did expect to at least see a few worms this time, but nothing ...... david of all the ailments in pigeons worms will drive you nuts thinking you have something far more serious ,easifen is diclazuril which kills eggs to ,if no sign then nothing was there hairworm is the most common i have found ,if you use a deep litter i would strongly suggest an annual wormer but maybe use something more subtle like moxidectin but with moxi you have to doit again 2/3 weeks later but still only 24hour treatment ,dont over canker the birds same with coccci tbh i never cocci the birds with canker i check under microscope same with cocci both easy to see and not hard to learn what to look for atb |

Yet it is the norm, say before mating up to Worm and canker the birds! Plus much else. This, I have always thought to a 'Willy- Nilly' thing with no realism of sensibility. Has this become a 'Thing one does' as to 'What one needs' I fear. |
