| Hows things going regarding the water problem, hope matters have settled down.
Water can be a real pest and ruin deep litter or keep the floor damp and open to nasties.
Were it me I would have let it get as dry as possible bought a bag of builders lime and spread it around and it would have dried up all the dampness and killed any nasties.
You could then just brush the lime away and go back to normal nothing worse than damp.
Some condenm builders lime but if you handle anything wrongly you will have problems.
Used it for over 50 years.
Just hope everythings OK, maybe keep itin mind if you have problems.
Regards. |

| yeah been okay, snow melt has been gradual so that helped, dug ditch infront and down the side to help get rid of water, but dont think that will do it if we get a deluge again, paired up now so fingers crossed |

Just how does the water get into the loft Is it at the bottom of an incline or on a largs flat area, is it off the ground and why does it apparently attract water. There are easy ways of diverting water away from an area. But if it goes directly into the loft there must be a reason. Cannot think of anything worse than going into your loft and finding water. Only ever happened to me once and destroyed deep litter I had for many years I had even moved it from loft to loft, heartbreaking. Both water and fire best avoided. Regards. |

| Yes obviously horrible if your home gets flooded...but my pigeon loft would be horrendous. I can do something about it , poor birds could not |

There are easy ways of diverting water away from an area.
But if it goes directly into the loft there must be a reason. the back garden is sloped quite a lot and there used to be a stream at the bottom, built new houses up the street and so they diverted the stream this has a lot to dowith it, lofts in dip and so lowest point water got nowhere to go, just got to get on with it, my brother got a pump on standby for me so that will help, like i said we havent had this for 20 years or more so hope it will be another 20 before it happens again, worse things happening so not going to gripe to much and yer right ray lying in bed and hearing the rain has a different meaning now
