the way the police knelt on floyds neck, is how they are trained to do, he did follow procedure, but the question is, did he take things too far ?

According to reports to date the procedure used was not recommended( as stated by top police officers).

Floyd has a past like anyone else, good bad and indifferent, has nothing whatsoever to do with being ill treated.

He was treated worse than an animal.

What I disagree with is the family being given $27 milion dollars compensation for his death, therefore acknowleging guilt on behalf of the police.

Not the acknowlegement but the pay off.

same as always misty, conflicting reports from all sources .....it said on the tv news the other day it is standard practice .......plus it makes sense, the us police are trained by israel in restrain tecniques , not sure if the uk police are or not, but i have seen video of them kneeling on knecks .......

David, if you watch some of  the police programmes and the manner the police  intimidate some  youngsters into resisting strong arm tactics, totally unecessary,
then the only  conclusion you can come to is. if their training is correct as they act it is wrong.

Half the time it appears the police want and enjoy confrontation and in particular if there is little chance of retaliation.

The police have a thankless job.

90% I feel do a good job, the problem is the10% are in the wrong job and make the general public less than enarmourerd with the whole set up.

i think a lot of the time police like to escalate the situation, especially when its 10 against 1 .........most are bully boy mentality .

i dont say all police are thugs and no goods, but i think the 90% good is way off the mark, my opinion is 70 % are bad, and 30% are good .........remember, they are a gang, and its them against us, hence the thin blue line in the union jack badge on their uniform .

ive had a little experience in my life with police, and id say maybe 6 were decent ........the rest wern`t

Just noticed 631 were viewing the site, just hope the extra 400 or so were not coppers or we could be getting our collars felt.

sometimes new / younger eyes and opinions are what we need knackered, sometimes people are stuck in their ways, and fail to consider any alternative .....it can be hard to change a life time of thinking a certain way .

If new youngsters had been progressively involved in the administration of our sport as I suggested in the 70s and the Old Brigade sent out to pasture, the sport would be in a far better place.
