UPDATE 02/08/2021
August 2nd, 2021
Good evening

They cleared well in training today.

Tomorrow we will move to the 16 mile point weather permitting and if that goes well then 20 miles Wednesday.

Anything after 12 noon today won’t go training tomorrow.

Jeremy..

Compare as you will Wink Wink local one down here, 852 left from 1246 starters at the start bounce bounce & the last two tosses there, were a 100 miler event & then a 150 miler type of thing. cheers

lol! lol! lol! I wait with great anticipation down here etc now O/S Wink Wink when Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes they eventually maybe get them to the distance type factor range there Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad & finely crack the big 20 mile mark there as such Wink Wink Final word here  Very Happy  Very Happy by the time they crack 20 miles, the local one here apparently with less tossing, will be having their first race for the season from 250 odd miles by all reports here on the local grapevine  Rolling Eyes  Rolling Eyes.  cheers

Been much the same type scenario since we have been on board there from my perspective here David Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Best thing they could do from my end bounce bounce is put a match to their lofts & burn them all to the ground Wink Wink as it's obvious they have major health issues each year with the losses there before they even attempt to start training mode & their general spin factor will not solve the issue I'm affraid looking into the future I suggest. cheers .

Think many times the reason being that many fanciers don't realise a Pigeon - of any age - needs to be mentally fit first. Physically becomes soon after, till they are as one. fitting fit.
Too many may say 'Others do it, done it, so should they. Having no thought of teir state of mind ... or love of loft at that moment. J.M.O.

Agree Daz Smile Smile One loft races thou I suspect, have little time for the occupants there to play the bonding game & also maybe have some one get inside their head so to speak. Dog eat dog scenario there in certain ways from my perspective here I'm affraid & that's why most of them by the end of racing each year on average have horrendous type losses by my way of thinking down here. cheers & take care.

Believe Knackered, their first and main concern isn't the welfare of the pigeons ... do what must syndrone, or the fanciers interests. The interest of the fancier is second to, and mainly to make money!

well when you do the maths of 1512 entries at £125 a pop it equates to £189,000 and the yearlings were £200 if i remember correctly and there were 250 entries so theres another £50,000 and of course the money from the auctions to ,they pulled in £239,000 in entry fees and probably near £300,000 with the auction dosh on top ...big money for the organisers eh Suspect pirat pirat Wink Basketball

Where there's money... there's crooks, fiddles and swindling. Plus folks, good hearted and genuine folks, being took to the clearners.
Then some genuine members put up and eventually get elected.

Sadly then, they are either squeezed out and give up ... or jump on the 'Band Wagon'. True!

Been the same for over 50 years, the clique have ruled the roost.

They even had a vote of no confidence against several Council members who wanted to investigate the whole system, the only ones who could have such a vote is the membership who voted then in, but they got away with it etc;etc;etc.

As for the OL run by our dubious lot, the facts speak for themselves.

Think flock treatment has a lot to do with it, and jumping them five miles as a first toss is expecting too much.

Just hope our two still make it.

Think we would be better buying a share in a nag.

Regards.

Buy a nag Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad keep well away from them etc bounce bounce I suggest Misty  Smile  Smile Burn a hole in your pocket in a money sense quicker than pigeons would for the average man type. Seen that many near million type horses here running around country type tracks, just hoping somehow to win a race for the peanuts factor scenario, I cringe with utter despair at times for the owners getting their fingers burnt in a major, major type way when they at last finely realize sadly they are racing a dog of a horse for the sheer enjoyment factor  Wink  Wink. cheers

Looking at things all round oldstrain we are doing better than most.

If we end up with one or two in the final it will be a real achievement.

Keeps us on our toes.

Yes and our nag cost us nowt but worry.
