3 ybs in one

In all the years , all the birds , all the pairs I have had I have never had 3 ybs in one nest accidentally. Obviously I know how its happened but not got a clue what hen it was . The bigger one is obviously off something else , its about a day or more older than the other 2 . I have rung it and moved it to another pair feeding one yb . See what happens, it might surprise me lol

That's true but then maybe not David .

I haven't a clue where it's from bug they are all there for one thing, that is to breed winners hopefully. So you never know

Good thinking etc but then what happens maybe Ray if somehow your third egg there becomes an out & out champion when raced somehow & then later perhaps a breeder of champions on the pedigree scenario side .

I am snookered then it's a champion not knowing its parents but if it is a winner it's a bonus anyway . The chances of that happening is probably 1 in a 100 or even higher but its getting the chance

i have never had 3 ybs under the same pair can a pair feed 3 ybs when off soft food and are different age say one pair 14 days old and single yb 10 days old

i remember having 4 eggs in one nest and all hatched ,it was 2 hens paired together one hen was huge and looked/acted like a cock but both were hens and got fertilised off other cocks paired in that section which cocks i did not know

Would not worry about pedigrees etc; bet before DNA was available some pigeons of repute were parents to ???????.

If the pairs are not isolated from pairing to breeding there is no guarantee
of pedigree, some cocks are little monkeys.

for the last few years ive had one cock paired to three hens, they all seem to take turns sitting the eggs and feeding them ......i normally throw 4 eggs away and just leave the two, who`s eggs they are i do not know  but they ybs always turn out healthy enough

these are in a nest on the floor.

3 pairs have laid to-day the pair on the shelf i put up 2 days ago has laid  one other hen is the large lump on her vent i knew it was not egg bound the only thing i'm not happy with it's not a clean egg

Obviously a new hen went into that box by mistake then original pairs went in . Anyway yb has been moved to another nest it's going to be given a chance

Would have run her first eggs George and let her sit dummies would not do he any good feeding youngsters.

ive not had a bad hatch at first glance, but im not too sure ive done the right thing breeding early ........its maybe a bit too cold really .

it's a lot milder here David 11c to-day

had one hen lay one egg then 3 days later laid its second, never had this before

Colin i had that had to move one yb to another nest will try and show  the 2 ybs

both turned out nice pigeons there was 3-4 days difference
