hi phil, im always having these sort of problems re trapping.......and in my opinion most of it is down to feeding too much, secondly pigeons need to be taught/trained from being young to come in when the fancier wants them to........in fact some fanciers have them trained so well they can even get them in if they are not hungry, also do you know if there is anything scaring them ie cats, foxes etc.....?

phill.when i let mine out i shut all the doors and traps and when i want them in just use the traps, shouting and shaking the tin to get used to it. so when i train and shout them in they drop no bother, in fact its great to watch 60 ybs trying to get in all at once, but you must control them not them you, i even put the troughs in when i want them in then when the first ones go in the rest will follow

i agree with ray re they will follow, ive noticed mine come in better when there are a lot of birds out rather than just a couple as when one or two start to come down and into the loft the others all seem to follow them.............. Very Happy

Phil are you able to fly your youngbirds for say 30 to 45 mins first then get them in do not give them any food, place them in the basket straight away then send them training 25 miles then see how they shape up

they will be that little hungry when they are coming home also you have flown some energy out of then before the training toss just see if that helps

Also there is one thing you can do if you fly the birds first before the training toss get them in place them straight in the basket leave them in the loft in the basket go and get the feeding truffs put them on the floor get your corn tin with corn in it shake the tin place a small amount in the truff the birds know that corn is waiting for them then take them training

Just a ferw idears mate hope it helps
