David you seem to be a bit worried sending your birds the way I look at things if I send my birds as youngbirds what i get home I look after them for next year dont get me wrong I dont like loseing any birds it hurts when you lose but that last for a week then you start looking at the next race and forget last week what I think while I got them send them you might lose next time its better to send two that got a chance of coming home than to send ten that might come home lol! lol! lol! lol! study study

hi ginger, yes you are basically right in what you say...........with me just restarting this season with ybs i wasnt prepared for what was to come re breeding, weaning going on the dark and all sorts of other things, as i once said to you that this season would be just a yb season and that would be it, no next year racing..........but as you already know things are said but things also alter and who knows i might just race next year lol!

with me not being fully prepared for racing the system of dark ybs took some time to get used to and also the problems i had re not flying/ranging didnt help, then they became ill which i dont know if it was yb sickness or not, this again i wasnt prepared for so eventually i missed the first two newark 56 mile races and have decided that i will enter all my ybs in a couple of open races which are at newark also which will enable me to jump my birds into the 150/200 mile fed/gya races.....thats if all goes well Very Happy

ive also made a big mistake in getting atached to some of them and thinking of them as pets.............. Embarassed

true ginger, the truth is as far as im concerned, is that i need to loose some of them even tho i dont want to because when it comes to deciding who stays and who goes at the end of the season i personnally cannot kill a pigeon.......i know we have our own methods of deciding if the bird should be disposed of or go on to make next seasons team etc but ill find it very hard to decide.... scratch Embarassed
