| Hi frnds I need some help/suggestion from u:) I have 2 pair of show pigeons and i'm facing some problems with their eggs for past couple of months, the eggs some times infertile or dead in shell , starting until this month i used to feed them with local nuts but now i have changed to branded mixture (Mariman Mixture from Belgium) and i use to give them mixed grit, egg shells + ACV & Garlic with water weekly. What could be the reason for infertile eggs/Dead in Shell? 1. Is the food which i gave them earlier? 2. Any health issues? 3. Could be because of disturbance which occurs when i place the food bowl to them, and while cleaning the cage? ( i use to feed them thrice a day & doesn't keep them bowl always in loft, will take it out in 10-15 mins, and once in 2 days i use to clean, only changing the papers) 4. The temperature could effect? (the temp... is nowadays on 45+ here) If any one has experienced this issue earlier pls help me to solve this problem as quickly as possible:) Thanks in advance for everyone |

| hi mate , the only thing i can think of is your pigeons need some where private to nest they will be disturbed if they havent they might be getting frighted by cats or hawks and comming of there nest and not incubating properly so make some alterations to your cage so they have some privacy also keep feeding them the good corn and make sure they are lice free . good luck |

Hi buddy I'm from Qatar, as far i noticed them, they doesn't leave the nest, they hatch very well, but something goes wrong while hatching, i've an strong doubt on my previous feeding. May be the feed didn't provide enough nutrition's to the baby. |

| hi mate have you ever treated for paratyphoid, that can cause dead in shell, parent birds can seem ok but can be carriers, its the only disease that can be carried in the ovum, I always treat before pairing. just another option |

I've never treated them for paratyphoid, after seeing your reply, i just went to the veterinary shop, but here they don't have med for paratyphoid, but the guy gave AVITRYL (Jordan) oral solution & Lutricyline (France) Oral Powder, and he said me that it will cure the egg problem, also he mentioned that this med's are for Salmonella & paratyphoid.
Do any one has any idea Oral powder/solution is good for pigeons?
Is paratyphoid & Salmonella is same or different kind of Diseases? |
