| is this harry kenyon the club sec ? if it is supplied from his club he should/must have a record of who it is registered to...........if the "owner" doesnt get back to you pretty quick phone him again and insist he gives you the info on who it belongs to. |

Thats okay, no worries
He should have records of who the rings were issued to after he ordered them, I'm guessing someone in his club.
Can take a little while to get a reply sometimes, mainly if he's has to search through records.

Those rings are on the register in his name, and judging by saying it's not his bird, he's the secretary, and a club member has them. And yep, chase it up, he should have members contact details |

| hope im wrong, but maybe, just maybe the birds owner might not be bothered about it....
Sorry with me not being a pigeon owner, and 100% in the dark about the whole thing have done a bit of reading up and the general response is the bird has failed and the owner will not be bothered about its return, hope im wrong because for one I do not know the owner and it's unfair for me to label all the same, harry seemed like a nice bloke on the phone, was helpful as he was flicking through what sounded like a notebook whilst i was talking to him on the phone and finaly you guys seem like nice people too...
Anyway will wait and see what response I get if any.....
The poor things sat on the outside bathroom windowsill asleep in the cold and wet as I couldn't catch It again lol
Again cheers guys

I'm really new to the hobby so I know just what it's like
Nope, not all like that. Most will give the bird a second chance as it could have gone off course if there was a bop strike , some dont. I have heard from people this year was the worst for losses. After all, that is why the RPRA have a system set up like this with the rings. Not only to prevent cheating in races, but also to provide proof of ownwership, and to allow a person who finds a stray to report it, where that unique code is linked with a club, and the secretarys details with that particular number. If no one was bothered, then the personal details of the person who owns the rings/club who owns, wouldn't be provided on the register.

| you have done great by repeorting the bird steve, and yes you are right.......he owner might think the bird is a failure, but by the rules of the rpra he must recover the bird if reported found....especially if it is reported by a non fancier, as it is a 2010 yb i cant see why the club sec should have any problem locating the owner.... is the club which the owner is a member of far from where you live......? |
