| Yes that is what it is all about plus your pigeons being under different management, you can see how they work under that different type of management, then you can make a few changes which may help improve your own results |

| yes thats true, over the last couple of years ive bred some ybs for a friend who has scored with them.....only seconds and thirds mind, and also a 1st prise winner bred from them but it does show that with the correct management your birds arnt that bad.. |

| Another thing they say is you can take the pigeon but you can't take the fancier
But sometimes it's only a small thing that can make al the difference |

| the more i read in the mags lately, the more it says dont make pigeon racing harder than it need be................keep it simple and straight forward, many fanciers make it harder than it need be. (so it says) |

| I think i know what Don is saying if the pigeons become a chore, and you are not enjoying the sport, then finish, there is nothing worse than forcing urself to do things, as this will and does reflect on the birds, as they do pick up on ur moods Ken |

| pigeons are either in you or not it just comes natural not a chore, an enjoyment , if you dont feel this then you are in the wrong sport |

| does not doing well racing make fanciers downhearted though, i would emagine if you do well you would be on a high compared to if you did rubbish.........i have found that some members in clubs have given up trying and this leaves the way open for the top members to take everything without fear of competition...........it shouldnt be like this. |

| i think the best way ian is to not go into it expecting to be a big winner, just enjoy the pigeons and the racing and dont expect too much at first...........obviously if the birds are no good they have to go, or altertatively if the fanciers management is no good he has to alter it............ |

| I think this exchange should get started, last year it was sorted within a few days. everyone expressed and interest names were put forward and it was drawn. this year should be the same as, lets get it out of the way early no arguments or anything get the names and do the draw late comers miss out either then do another if lots more want to join or wait till 2012. It all worked very well last year good birds were exchanged and everyone seemed very happy. As far as testing your bird under new management, I agree its a test, I gave a bird to a mate this year and he won 1st I had second with the nest mate so he beat me with my own bird, this I found very interesting, I hope my exchange birds set the world on fire. |

| If you can not enjoy your birds (and it is not about winning) then the sport starts to get hard
And yes i have seen this happen, weather you win or lose as long as you can go to the loft and enjoy being with your pigeons then that makes the difference
But when you start going to the loft and after half an hour you are on your way back home then that is when it starts to be a chore
That is what i mean Ian |

| Don web how right you are...I love winning and it tells me I am on the right track and my breeding selections have been correct, but If I dont win I couldnt care less, I only race pigeons because I love them in every way in every season, they are always a wonder for me. going into the loft and liking what you see is by far more satisifying, give me a loft full of beautiful rubbish birds every time, rather than a loft full of ugly winners. |
