last time i raced pigeons ian some "kind" fancier broke into my loft and killed my birds because we were winning..............

god david they must be a nasty lot in your club , i thought ians club was bad lol

ray, you get them all over the country who do things like that dont you.........and as you all know the members of most of the clubs are like old women gossiping and backstabbing and sometimes spoiling it for the genuine fancier who just wants to race his birds.........

Quiet a few years ago someone tuck some of my birds but unfortuneatly he couldnt see his birds for a fortnight as the doctor wouldnt let him out the hospital you can come to my loft any time you like there is no locks on the doors

There are some sick people about Cant imagine what you thought when you saw them like that... Did you ever find out who did it?

no alex, very rare you will find out............but obviously a person/s who didnt like us doing well with them.

Yes David, suppose sometimes they get others to do it? All I hope is it never happens to me...

thats very true ian, they are not im afraid.......... i dont know how they could do it anyway, if they love pigeons how can they do this to them....even if they dont care much for the owner its a nasty thing to do to inocent birds.

It's nasty to do full stop David, even if you don't care for pigeons, or the person....

You will have no problem racing next season if you had birds that made people that jealous before, you must be doing something right David.

Ive been 'racing' or as I call it every race' plodding' as im always miles behind, so can I join your club david, as I definately class myself as a novice

are you bothered about not winning paul ? some fanciers are just happy to compete and enjoy keeping their birds, are you one of these ? alternatively why do you think you are mies behind, is it birds or management problems ?

as you know don i restarted about 2 years ago with pigeons altho it was only this year i joined a club to race, i thought i would just start off with ybs but im sorry to say even that was harder than i emagined..........as i didnt do my "homework" and jumped straight in at the deep end and didnt even manage to race in my club, altho i did send to a couple of opens.......hopefully i have learned from my mistakes and hope to compete in a few old and young bird races in 2011........

to be honest lads if your not committed 100 % you will not win many if any races, nobody tries harder than us and we only get about 2 to 3 wins a season albeit good results but its so hard and to beat the so called top men you have to. on the other hand if you are happy just to compete well that fair enough and i can understand that , sometimes i wish i was,nt as obsessed but its in my blood

agree with you ray, to be sucessful you need 100% comitment.........and also birds which are capable of winning.

But in this sport of pigeon racing you are competing against the best from the start


There is no apprentership with this sport or different levels you can start at
