yes it does i take my 8 year old daughter to the loft she has two fantails she looks after

my daughter wont go near them, thinks im a nutcase keeping pigeons........probably due to the fact she hasnt grown up with them though, she grew up with a dog and cat so she will be for these .

Don't get shocked i agree but it does help if you can start them young it all started for me when i was 5

suppose its the 'circle' of friends im in, the ones who like animals, that way im not weird......much

do you keep any other animals/pets alex.....and what made you decide to get into pigeons...?

A housefull mate

got into pigeons after we couldnt keep bop's.....ironic really would rather have pigeons anyday.

nice to sit in with them and watch them alex, you get to know their personalities and make friends with them too...........also great to have them flying out and enjoy watching them exercising around the loft etc..........

too true , thats why i have incorperated the corridor in the new shed, can sit comfotably in there and keep an eye on the birds without being in with them, hoping it will help in taming them better, and the corridor has enough space for a cupbaord at the back for all my stuff ,nest bowls ,scrapers etc and storing their feed. plus its a great place to hide from the mrs

Chris the one thing for me to help keep the pigeons tame starts as youngbirds and keeping them a little hungry so they will eat out of your hand also when you feed the birds get your hand and stroke it over there backs for me when doing this the pigeons get used to you being there and are carmer mate hope this helps

Chris, if you go on ebay and see Leen Bores (Youngbird Specialist of Holland) advertised buy it and you will see how he can bond with his birds that may also help you out mate

Alex it is a good video / DVD mate and for me the way his loft is set up is spot on mate and that is how i will have my loft when i get round to racing again mate
