hi darren, bit of a sore subject really.....in fact i shouldnt have mentioned it but last year ray tried a salt block when his birds were rearing ybs so the droppings would be firm, but a day or so later his hen was dead and he thought the salt could have contributed to it......

saoory ray, shouldnt have mentioned it......was a delicate subject at the time.

Very Happy Sorry to hear about the stock hen 6 seems a bit young to go mind you....I have a 1998 hen just paired her up to the widow cock she was with last year, shes not as lively as last year and hasnt laid yet after 10 days, mind all my birds are a bit slower this year, lets hope this is not her last but shes 13.

David as long as he can tread the hen o.k he will still breed but as time goes you may find that he will breed when the sun is about lets say May June mate as the cold weather does them no good

breed of a 16 year old cock but in the May when the weather was warmer and he was in a section on his own with his hen
