they keep throwing 1 egg out

My tumblers have just layed there 2nd egg the trouble is they keep throwing 1 of the eggs out i keep putting it back in the nest. In the daytime the cock is sat on the nest so i think it is him. so tonite i put it back when the hen went to the nest. I have only the 1 pair so i cant foster it out,should i just leave it out next time and leave them with 1.

its either one of two things his he trying to push it out cos there is some thing wrong with it ,
or is there to much nesting material in the nest bowl , pigeons know best just leave them be .

he might be pulling it out if the nesting material gets round his feet, and he pulls the egg out.............

Simle answer, mark the egg and pop it under another pair to get it through hatching, leave that pair with just the 1 egg when it hatches or is chipping put it back under the pair with the remaining youngster that will have also just hatched, that way you get 2 from them and they get youngsters instead of eggs and wont throw them out.

godd idea martyn, but im sure he says he cant foster them out as he only has one pair..............wonder if its the same egg being thrown out every time...? if he marks it like you suggest he would know.

Yes good idea to see if its the same one, he surely hasnt just got 1 pair on eggs in the whole loft? I didnt mean foster it out just keep swaping it under birds sitting even if its a couple of days under different ones until its due to hatch, if you see what I mean.

yes i have only got 1 pair i was given them as the other person didnt want them.
