this is another nestcam that has been set up on derby cathedral and is watching a falcon, the camera only takes a shot every few seconds so isnt as clear as the other one but is interesting viewing.....

the rspb will have got pest control to remove them as they were feral birds. they are more bothered about the bop`s than any pigeons be it racers or ferals... Evil or Very Mad

The problem is the feral pigeon gives the racing pigeon a bad name as to normal people pigeons are all the same to them and that is the biggest problem getting them to uderstand the difference between the two

don, do you think the ferals are desended from lost racers ? have you ever noticed the eyes on the ferals, completely different to a racing pigeon(most are anyway)

nothing in the iris is there, most likely due to the fact there is no or very little homing ability ? what do you think....

don, the thing that im interested in re eyesign is the iris really, when fanciers sya racing eyes and breeding eyes, im not interested in a racing eye because all you need to do is put it in a basket and try it....its either good or bad isnt it ? but with breeding the eye becomes more inportant to me as i like to consider the iris density and colour and put oposites together. by this i mean if i had a bird with a thin weak coloured iris i would pair it with a bird with a wide dark iris...
this is the only time i would pair by eyes.

For me a good breeding eye has a lot of caractor, the only way i can explain this by saying get some gravel in your hands pick it up and the way that looks is the type of iris i look for

But this is only my opinion

yes don, i know what you are saying and your right, it shouldnt be just like smooth and no ridges/built up moutainous a smooth plain eye is not what i would consider a breeding eye...dont want to get too tecnical over it because i dont want to put my self up as an eyesign man because i only study and take note of my own birds and pair as i would like. ive read in books etc about these so called experts and all they tell you is a load of rubbish...its all repeated parrot fashion and the dont actually tell you anything.

i was reading an eyesign comentry the other day and the person said...."i can tell by this eye that one of the parents had some pied or white flight in it" it then showed the pigeon he was looking at in a photo and it was a white flight pied!!! great piece of eyesign knowlage there wasnt it ? chances are if he is looking at a pied one of the parents will have been one isnt it?

it bugs me when i read eyesign men giving there oppinions and they all say the same meaningless rubbish....they descride the eye but dont tell you what it means or commit them selfs to say anything concrete about ther bird......i have my own likes and dislikes in types of eyes which i would use with my own birds but wouldnt dream of telling anyone else what eyes should suit them in their family of birds... I think i have already said this but was showing in an eyesign show ay louella lofts was showing 3 hens

Got the the lasty 12 pigeons and had 2 of the 3 left, the person eyesigning was Mr Eyesign (Bill Carney) and he then started looking at there wings and body shape which he said they were not up to what was needed.

I plyed my mouth and Lou gave me my money back as i said it was an eyesign show not a look at everything else
