| hi fred, im letting mine out only once a day at the moment, and feeding once a day too..........a few weeks ago before i put them onto the dark they were flying for an hour easily, now they dont want to fly....they look and handle fine and are not ill so i wonder is it because they are moulting or just got lazy...? |

| i never tried the darkness system so i dont know how they should fly all i can say is when i had y/bs they would fly at least a hour or more when starting to range. |

| I have always fed twice a day always old and young, they fly morning and evening weather permitting, early as possible 5.30 best in summer, and no later than 4/5 pm evening. |

| i feed mine in the morning before work, then between 5.30 and 6.00 when i come home from work at night i let them out for as long as they want, sometimes its 15 mins sometimes its half an hour, then they come in and have a final feed of the day, dont know if its the right thing to do, but i do the same time every day except weekends, weather permiting that it.
doing the above suits my lifestyle and it creates a routine for the birds. |

| routine is one of the key factors in pigeon racing chris stick with it mate as ray says work it best you can to suit you but once in a routine it makes life easy for you and the birds to enjoy and at the end of the day its only a hobby lets not forget that and we should enjoy our hobby not make it like a chore |

| i feed yb once a day at 4.30 pm and they are let out 0nce a day at 3.00pm and are flying for about 1 hour they were on a ounce and a third but this has been slowly cut back to an ounce now as some were not traping as i liked and some handled a bit heavy |

| i prob know a lot less then most on here but i would give one teaspoon of trapping mix per 4 birds in the morning fly and one and a half oz of there main feed when they went out on there second fly but i only left it in the loft for around 20-30 mins this worked ok for me but i only raced old and young on natural. |
