| tricky question fred some wil say yes and some no but i can tell you what i know ive never bought a pigeon since ive been racing and thats since 1985 ive allways had them giving from friends that way i think you get there best as they don,t want you saying them birds you gave me are no good . i think its as hard as you want to make it some people want to complicate things but me i like every thing natural so that way you have the best of both worlds with the cock and hen , in the past the country as been swamped with belg and dutch birds but ive seen things changing with people going for more home grown pigeons and having a go at the longer races , but to me fred it will always be simple to me regardles if i win or lose cheers kev . |

| I have to agree with birdy, I think the velocities are not much different these days a 5 hour race is still a 5 hour race, the racing is more difficult, with unexplained happenings and losses, just a few weeks ago on a routeen traning flight with our club 600 ybs were let go 15 miles from home, and half of them ended up over 65 miles away in the oposite direction, homing ability seemed to disapear, this sort of thing does make it harder, but not because of new strains, just unexplained things. |

| are people flying there birds to light now and not carrying enough to the race point so as when it is a hard race they burn what weight they have got off to quick.also i know theres alot of other things to take in but some how the real good birds home all the time even in the bigger races. this is just thoughts and opinions. |

| Yes thats something I do agree on, many fanciers are obsessed with keeping them light, I always get told at marking that my ybs are a bit heavy, but thats how I feed. Then last week disaster race tons of missing birds some only had 2 from 15 , and 5 from 20. I on the other hand had 10 from 14 by far the best returns in the whole section, so where was the light birds that day, ok I was 13th club but I would rather get them back and not win. |

| yes i agree everyone claims to have the miracle product or system that they want to sell its all to commercialised a complete transformation to the last involvement with pigeons over 25 years ago i cant believe the change and most of it not for the better of the sport to much medication to many rip off merchants to many people at the rpra who are not fighting our corner with the rspb( lets hope the new chairman has more input into this) maybe it would help if a ex fancier or fancier was at the healm with some passion for it. |

| hi darren, im glad you mentioned the new rpra manager........did you read the questions and answers the other week in the bhw ? what a load of crap that was, pointless s**t, altho it did give us some usefull information by reading between the lines as to who and what he is about.......
firstly i get the impression he is not a pigeon man, so therefor he isnt going to fight the corner of us all against the rspb and the hawk problem, the same as a pigeon fancier would.....why would he ? at th end of the day what does he know about pigeons being ripped to bits ?
secondly. ive forgot the other points untill i read it again, but it seems all he is there for is for the same reason as the other fella, a wage !!!!
oh, and another thing, the question was does he think mike tyson is a good ambassador for the pigeon sport...? he said no, definately not..........its strange tho that he should approve of the queen being the pstron of the rpra, when her son is the best friend of a pedo,......thats ok and acceptable. |
